crips people certainly are sensitive.
Sorry if my quality control line made folks think this was a popularity contest that was not my intention because after this thread I would lose that
Nor did I mean to imply that he who has the most money should have the most posts. There are great tanks out there that cost "little" to set up (my own is full of used equipment and inexpensive frags)
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!"
"One man's trash is another man's treasure" and all that stuff
My point is that a tank with a single mushroom or damsel should not be the featured tank regardless of how nice an arrangement of live rock there is. Whether its a FOWLR, softie, SPS, anenome or whatever the tank does represent the club on our website.
I thought the purpose of F.T.O.T.M was to share each others saltwater experiences and what we find successful with pretty pictures.
If we are going to learn something from the featured tank of the month, then we should consider posting mature tanks (chose your own definition here) and the owners who have been through the difficulty of maintaining a tank and found a formula that works. That allows the rest of us newbies to learn.
Sorry if my comments turned this post south.
I vote opt in.
