Anyone ordering anything from GlassCasges anytime soon? I'm interested in a small custom sized tank, but just can't get down to their local pickup location. Looking for someone (preferably north/northwest burbs) - that might be ordering something that could pickup for me.

Funny you bring this up. I just got a quote today from them for a small custom tank. But with the quote I got, I wont be ordering anything.

I have a GC tank and it works great. Is it top of the line craftsmanship? No. My tank is fairly small, and for the price I paid, I would definitely go there again. Especially for a frag tank.

Then again, it wasn't custom built.

This is the quote I got from them:

14 x 14 x 11 tall rimless glass aquarium $ 110.00

Starphire 3 sides $ 40.00

Horizontal overflow and 1 hole $ 65.00

Black acrylic cover $ 30.00

1" sch 80 bulkhead $ 15.00

Pick up our truck Monee IL $ 36.00
----------------
Total $ 296.00

anyone know they recived horrible reviews, rude people and crappy tanks, for the most part.

I heard that the work wasnt great, but for this small of a tank it wouldnt matter that much to me. Seems like they make a good tank every now and then.

Point is - try to find another "glass" tank builder that will make a custom size. Oceanic would, but you'll pay dearly. Others that will build custom sizes - are not local and won't ship or shipping makes it not cost effective.

GlassCages doesn't have the greatest reviews - but has many happy customers.

Best price/quality I could find on my custom size was from Miracles in Canada, but shipping took them right out of the equation.

Tried for the last year to get one from their local distributor. They now only ship over $1500 and only sell locally near Detroit.

Would you do an acrylic tank...I sure there are people local/on this board that could do it for you. Being so small I bet the cost would be reasonable.

Homebrewdude-go fish in orland is pretty reasonable I think...damn i been plugging them alot lately

Nope - not interested in acryllic - I want a glass tank.

Home Brew - I hear Crystal Clear in Schererville has good prices.

I was thinking of getting an acrylic, but changed my mind to glass.

I'd second Crystal clear, the guy sells for just about wholesale. I got a 75 for $130 from him...
