glass drilling question

have to have either water or radiator fluid(I'd rather use water)

friction heats up the steel and the diamond grits become loose and fall off, the water keeps the edge cool.

don't need that much water though. you can put a bucket or tub underneath the tank.

I want to drill another hole for the overflow it has only one 1.5 and I wanted another for safety. I would have to drill it from the bottom

it has a built in overflow I cant fit my drill in it and the tank is built into the furniture and it cant be moved

i mean drill from the outside in. then have a pvc leading down and into the sump from the back. won't look as good but if you try drilling from the bottom your going to get electrocuted.

put a plastic bag over the drill with just the bit coming out. Then have someone spray it with a water bottle while you are drilling.

still gonna get water in there.

Not sure if this would do the trick or not.

I was at a plumbing supply store and saw a spray can of something that is used for welding. It was some kind of coolant in a can. I didn't pick it up and read the can so I don't know what it is exactly. Maybe someone with welding experience knows what it is that I saw and if it could be used to keep a drill bit cool.

I personally would put a plastic bag over it and spray with a spray bottle like BlakDuc suggested but definitly use a battery powered drill. I'm not saying it's the safest thing in the world, but I would personally do it anyway.

You can drill it with some sort of lubricant. But just do it 7 seconds at a time with 20 seconds rest. I understand your situation and had to drill this way before. Don't press the bit hard either. This is what worked for me.

Can we get a picture so that we can fully understand your situation?
