Glass tank drilling in the East Bay

Im picking up another 125 tommorow from a friend and assuming it's in as good of condition as he says it is Im going to need to have it drilled for a overflow IF the bottom isn't tempered glass.. I live in Brentwood anyone know anyplace local that can drill it for me I just need to have it drilled for a 1" bulkhead and Im going to build the overflow box myself... .. I know a guy in Sac that does it for $20 but i really don't want to drive up there and leave the tank in back of my truck all day before i meet up with my luck some homeless person would break it where I park at for work.

Any help would be great thanks
Dan

Yeah I would drill it myself but i don't have the bit and im sure it would cost more than having someone else do it to buy the bit plus if they crack it I can blame them I hate when i break stuff i do that enough-)

I have a feeling it's tempered also.. There's a possibility I might be setting up something else now though anyways I swear I switch tanks like I change underwear everyday it seems like=)

More than likely a 125 is going to have a tempered bottom. I would try drilling it on the back and run your plumbing that way. I have two drill bits is a 35 mm for a ¾ inch bulk head and a 60mm for a 1 ½ inch bulk head. I live in Discovery Bay just drilled my new 60 gallon Cube that I am working. Drilling was not as hard as I thought as it was going to be. I know that Neptune Aquatics carries drill bits if you want to buy one locally. Closer than going up Sac

if u wanna come to oakland and use my drill and bit ur welcome to i can drill for u if it break i wont pay for it and its free =)

=) yeah I appreciate whatcha charge discus I need to figure out what size hole I need I'm thinking i'll drill two holes in the back wall and build a calfo style overflow box for it... I need to find my spare bulkheads tommorow and see what I have also I still need to pick up that tank I didnt get around to it today..

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum.

I saw that you guys live in the Brentwood area. I live in Discovery Bay and was wondering where you guys go to buy all your supplies, coral or fish.

Previously I had a tank for 4 years. I moved 3 years ago and had to get rid of everything so I'm now gettting my new 50g tank going.

Thanks in advance for the info!

I usually get most of my stuff from friends or theres a small store over by Target on Lone Tree way it kinda crappy though I just buy hermits there... I like aquatic gallery in milpitas, aquarium concepts in Dublin on dublin blvd.. and there tons of other great places listed at the top of this forum.. Most of my corals come from local reefers or stores in Sac since I work up there I usually stop by them on my way home..and I have a nice stash of my best corals from when i took my 180down in August that are in my buddies tank in Sacramento so i'm slowing brining frags back from his tank as well... What are you looking for? I have lots of extra equipment and such.. IMO I wouldn't waste my time with All About Fish in pleasant hill though overpriced and every fish i've ever bought there died... for live rock definately buy it from someone taking dow a tank you'll pay $1-2/# opposed to $8-10/# locally

yea like me im takin down my tank and have 600 lbs of live rocks for sale but sorry to say i like buying equipment online

what kind of live rock? Im looking for some really super porous stuff i think I have vanatau or some weird name and I ditched all my other stuff because I didn't like it=)

Thanks Bamm Bamm!

I've got pretty much everything I need right now. I have another few weeks of cycle time and then I'm gettting to get a clean up crew started in there.

I did actually buy some LR off of craigslist and the guy informed me about this site.

I would like to get another 10-15# of LR if you have any that you're going to sell.

Actually I need to get some more=) all my extra are show pieces I've had drying out since I took down my 180=) but I'll be setting up another big tank and need some more soon as well... that place on lone tree way near target has small blue leg hermits for $0.99/each I just picked up 10 earlier this evening..
