Both have advantages and disadvantages. I prefer glass over acrylic because I would destroy an acrylic tank by scratching it. Also glass does not distort your view.
I own both and I must say the acrylic when clean is so clear it looks invisible. The only distortion on acrylic is if you get bent corners. However, I like glass way better because it is so much easier to clean and keep clean. I have to scrape coralline off the acrylic every week, it sticks easier on it. I understand starfire glass is supposed to be as clear as acrylic but I havent ever owned one.

I seen the 800 in the trader too, but I just don't have the cash or the cash for a tank that size. I have look on the web and have found a 400 glass for 3600.00 still looking . Maybe a rich person will throw their 400 gal reef out to the curb while I'm driving by. GOOD Thing happen to people who wait .
