Whew... just finished reading the entire thread. Your system is totally wicked!!

IIRC you dose iron for the goni. But what about your long tentacles plate anemone? Do you feed it? Thanks!

I guess I am absolutely astounded that RC has prevented others from contacting you. You obviously have some very practical and successful methods. I always thought forums like this were for learning, and bettering yourself at what you do. I can understand them not wanting you to post publicly any personal products, but to remove any ability to contact you on a private level disturbs me.
Don't know if they will allow you to answer my question or not. It's about your lights. You use only t-5 lights correct? I think I might like to do this on my new 180, but I'm unsure of how many lights I need. They will have to run front to back because of the length of the tank and no middle support for a stand, so I will be using 24 inch lights. Was going to go with 3 24 inch lights with 4 bulbs and 3 24 inch lights with 2 bulbs, do you think I should just go with 6 24 inch lights? I will have the ability on the 4 bulb combos to turn one half on or off at a time. I have a set of Kessils over my current 80 gallon tank and while the sparkle is pretty, the blue sucked all the color out of everything. I means sure, the greens fluoresce as do a few other colors but corals that don't fluoresce just faded into the background. Attempts to brighten the lighting result in receding corals. I added a purple plus t-5 to the front of my tank, that combined with the kessils had made a huge difference. Even some of the corals that were struggling are doing much better without being burned. So I don't think I want to go with LED lights again, rather do the T-5s. I'm just unsure on how many to use.

Thanks m8.
It's unconventuonal and surely not mainstream.

In holland however is more and more people follow my lead. i tutor them how to and supply the dutch with the means to do so.
It's becomming more common to work without or far less WC thsn before.

Goniopora species benefit fron iron and manganese dosing.
I dont feed my corals in the maindisplay. I do maintain higher nutrient levels to keep all species happy, because i prefer a mixed reef.

I have no problem with any rules, i guess they are there for a reason.

I don't have time to reply all PB's anyway.
I get many all over the world.
Instead i choose a open platform like forums.

Nowadays i don't even have time to maintain all forums and topics. So that explain my absence.
Even on my home forum i have to squeeze in the time to maintain my tankblog.

I just post to show there are alternate way of reefkeeping which can lead to great results.

I am not that found of ledlighting. i keep a close watch on the developments, but i haven't seen anything yet that convinced me they are anywhere close to long time results reached with T5 lighting.

This i my setup now.

Every time a new picture of your tank is comming up i tell myself: One day u have to see that tank in real life!

Thanks m8.
I don't allow many visitors into my home, but if you're willing to make the trip, i am willing to make an exception to the rule[emoji12] .

Where are you from?

Why compromise ?

minimum effort, maximum enjoyment.

5 Tanks, 4 separate systems and each serve their own purpose:

730f41920edd2b3c3076946e1b3b1a92.jpg

- Main display stacked with corals and fish -1200 liters
Already 11,5 years with no water changes

- Dymico SPS tank to be, now about 2 months - 550 liters
The purpose is to compare SPS coral growth and coloring with my showtank
