The Best solution is get one piece big enough to make what you need as gluing is not reliable no matter what method you use. The Only way I know is to use the under water putty to glue stuff to eggcrate so you might try that?

I don't want to make a piece longer - I want to make a little table-like structure with three pieces. The "top" would be 3.5" X 6", and the sides or "legs" would be 2" X 6". Like this:
And another glueing question - can you use superglue to glue a piece of plastic to glass in a sump? I bought some of those corner protector strips (you know, the clear plastic strips you put on outside corners of walls to protect the drywall from dings and damage?) thinking that I could glue them to the inside of my sump and use them as supports for a shelf made out of egg crate.
Now I'm not sure if I should go that way or make the whole thing out of egg crate?
Larry is right Zip ties are the Prefeered way of building with Eggcrate. Gluing those to the Glass I guess you could try but a free standing structure would be better IMO
Bill
+2 on the zip ties. also adding a back or better yet a front and back will greatly increase the structural integrity. think of a cube without the bottom. this will allow the distance between the bottom of the sides to remain fixed and the angle remain square. the intersection of the side and the top is the greatest stress point due to torque if the bottom of the sides were to get bumped.
