Gluing hydnophora

this was a pain - I tried to superglue the base to a rock (out of the water).
It produced so much slime that it almost needed 10mins out of water to get a semi-decent bond.

It's in the tank now... And open again. But what a pain.
Is there an easier way to do this?

I use gorilla super glu gel but any gel super glu works fine also if you dunk in saltwater it'll immediately reacts with glue and thickens up

My problem wasn't with the glue. I use superglue for other coral attachments without issue. The hydnophora's thick slime was the problem. Do most people leave it out to dry a bit in cloth to absorb the slime before gluing?

I have never had that issue and I've glued hydnophora frags but like I said I basically put spot of glu on plug have my frag in cup take out of cup place in glu and put in tank ive had slime but again nothing that interfered. I like the gel cause i feel it holds the frags better. Hope that helps sorry if not

Maybe the size is the issue. I glued small frags of the same colony without issue. They couldn't generate enough slime.

This was a larger mother colony- maybe 2" and 8 branches?
