OK, so I shoulda taken notes... During Allen LaPont's lecture at the last CMAS meeting, he mentioned problems with glue vapor getting stuck in the elbows & such. What did he say to do about that? Just blow through with air?
Leave all valves open for a couple of days, you can use a vaccum cleaner to suck some air trough so all vapors are gone once the glue is cured. Finally rinse the whole system, test it with fresh water and discard it, not because of glue residue but to clean all the insides of the pipes which are usually very dirty out of the hardware store.
Twist the pieces together... put the glue on the two pieces, and then give them atleast a quarter twist to even out all the glue and make sure theres no airpockets or anything in there.
