Goby fry but massive die offs

Hi everyone,

I posted last week that I had my first spawn of Multiband Gobies and wanted to know what to do. Well........

The eggs hatched and I was able to harvest all the fry without much pain, now the other pair has spawned!!! Two pairs!!!

I placed the fry in a 5.5 with Nanno and Rotifers using the same water as the breeding tank. Temp 80F SG 1.023

I lost most of the fry the same day leaving about 50 for day two. Checking them today I found TWO weak, barely swimming fry.

The problem might be that they are starving, it seems that the Rotifers are too big for them to handle. I'm open to suggestions here if anyone has any.

thanks

What rotifers are you using? B.plicatilis or B.rotundiformis? The former might be too large.

I am using rotundiformis. It is seems impossible for me to get "S" type over here and it seems like no one is willing to ship them out either!!

This got me thinking, is there a fish dating service anywhere on the web. My poor guys need some action.

thats for clearing up the Rotifer ID issue. Then that being said I guess that I have the larger ones.

The second spawn hatched out, like the other spawn these are in a 5.5 with Nanno and Rot's. I dont see much in the way of full bellies, should I??
