Goby question

is it normal for a goby to be at the top of the tank. when i went to turn on the lights he was swimming vertical against the glass like my clowns do. when the lights came on he moved and was struggling to swim against the current. it turned the PH off and he settled back down to the sand bed and is out. He ate a little bit of brine shrimp when i was feeding the clowns. do i need to be worried about him? ammonia, nitrites and nitrates are all at 0 just tested. Came home today after work and he seemed fine, was eating like normal. Turned light off and he came out of his cave and is now swimming vertical again at the top like my clowns. Is this normal?

But if he's gasping at the surface, no. If he's just swimming around the top then he's fine

My YWG did that periodically for a couple weeks until he settled in with his pistol shrimp buddy....really made me nervous but I think it might just be them getting used to things.

What type of goby?
How long have you had it?
QT before going into the DT?
Tank mates other than clowns?
Sand bed?
