God I hate cyano

By the way, other than the red slimy stuff everywhere, thats a really nice tank. I would love to come by and check it out sometime.

Out of curiosity, of those that are having the cyano issues - who uses baking soda?

If baking soda proves to be the cause, I'll be the first to tell everyone all about it. But....I've been using baking soda for about 2 years now, and only had cyano issues the past few months.

Hmmmm......I also have a small outbreak of cyano in a little area of my tank. I've been using NSW for water changes and wondering if that had anything to do with it. I also dosed some phyto for the first time a few weeks ago too.

I'm wondering if there might be a common denominator here too!!! (and I don't use baking soda)

At least for me, baking soda is not my cause. I dont dose it.

I dont believe phyto is a problem either. When i first bought the tank used, it came with a large quanity of phyto which i dosed for several months until it ran out and had no cyano.
