Going To Order Everything Soon.. Is This Adequate?

400WATTS IMOP IS A BIG WAST OF money and electricity,,you could run 175s over thatr tank and have great results ,,the highest i would go would be 250 ,,it is all about how you take care of you tank ,,

1 more thing i wouold get the tunze 6080 before i would getv a seio that big just look at the diffreances in the watts

A ca reactor and kalk will eliminate the need for dosing. Go with a dual chamber reactor and don't buy the bottle. Most places that refill them just switch an empty for a full one. You give them a deposit on the first bottle. I bought one and it was a mistake. You can always run a lower watt bulb on a higher rated ballast. Just upgrade your bulb to 400s when you upgrade your tank. Yes you can mount them higher if you go with the 400s.

i will probably get the bottles refilled at a place that refills paintball co2...

now back to my other questions..

for ca reactors.. does it take water from the sump and pass it through the media and then put it back into the sump? or does it take topoff and pass it through the media and then into the sump?

does it require a doser/topoff? or is it gravity feed?

i cant run an auto topoff in my sump cuz its a rubbermaid..

best way to feed water to your reactor is through you return pump 1/2 inch pvc that way you dont have to wory about a powerhead craping out on you ,pluss that is just 20 more watts wiht a power head added to heat

even if it a rubermaid you can still run some sort of auto top off and you will need some way to top off evap water ,,why not use a glass tank for a sump and silicone the bafs in your self ,,trust me do it right the first time arround you will be glade and your wallet will be glade as well....once again you do not need 400 watts you can use 250 wiht no atinics as well ,,

this is the reactor kit i would be getting.. is that a pump in the pic ontop the the reactor?

my return is a mag9.5 using 3/4in flex tubing..

isnt 950gph too much flow for a reactor? and wouldnt it drastically reduce my tanks ph since i would need to turn up the bubble count in order to deal with all that flow?

what other ways r there to feed it? ive seen some people use an autolifter pump..

lolol,,,my friend you only t off the return line wiht a ball valve so you can turn it down ...i run a panworld 100pxx for return i run 2 ts off my return they are both 1*1*1/2,,,bothe have ball valves on them to control the output 1 goes to refug other goes to the reactor ,,if i where you i would save money on the reactor and get the geo at premium aquatics that is just my thought ,,geo is one of the best reactors out and less money then the one you piced

with that reactor the pump on top is for recirculating-but will also feed the reactor-for a ton of info on this reactor look in the advanced forum-there is a huge thread on them.as for lighting i agree with the others-you don't need 400w-seeing that your tank is 60" you will however probably want to get 3 lights to get a better spread of light.also if your gonna spend the money on an ASM skimmer like the g4 might as well dish out a little more to begin with and get a deltec,h&s or a good becket skimmer.
