Gold Dwarf Moray Eel Advice?

Just got one of these eels about a week ago. He pretty much dominates one of the big rocks on the right side of my 65 gallon tank. The problem is, he doesnt come out at all. Is this normal for these guys? Ive fed him 3 times and every time he just quickly pokes his head out of the food and grabs it and then he is gone until the next time i feed him. Do you guys have any tips? I would like to see him more. Thanks!

thats usually what eels do. sometimes they go without eating for weeks. it may come out more once it gets used to everything

Wow mine only ate live guppies. Make sure you have a locking lid.

I've had mine for almost a year and she's the same way. She will poke her head out maybe once a week for a few minutes but she pretty much only comes out when she's hungry.
