is anyone familiar with these? Do they get the gold color as they get older/bigger. My lfs got 2 in a few weeks ago. They look pretty cool!

If you look up " aquanerd" Segrest farms announces gold rush maroon .... It says it's a white band clownfish with horizontal stripes and is precursor to the lightening maroon .... Pretty cool if you breed it you may have very interesting surprise hatchlings...

Well from what I understood from what I've read in the blog , it seems that it will stay with white ... The name they gave it kind of throws people off thinking it'll have yellow stripes.

they look pretty cool, but I'll take the normal yellow strip maroon. something about that yellow that's so much better than white. also a lot cheaper. just my opinion.
