Goniopora sp. question

I picked up this piece at a LFS .. i was reading placement is near bottom with med/ heavy flow... I guess at the store that was not the case since it was always closed up when I saw it...some polyps are starting to come out since I put it in my tank yesterday. What do you guys think ? suggestions ? placement ? lighting ?

Mine is on the sandbed under T5's and 1 led strip with medium flow, its been happy in my tank for over a year.

Do you think where I have it is to high up ? i think the flow is fine... just was not sure if I should do some remodeling with the rocks to get it there... Hammers are also suppose to be on the bottom but look where mine is =/

What lighting do you have? My other lps, hammer, torch & frogspawn are all higher in my tank than the gonipora.

If the polyps are starting to emerge it probably likes where it is, but I would be very careful having it situated so close to that hammer coral. Gonna be a nasty battle if they touch.

i have 4. .24w t5. . i was thinking the same thing with the hammer. i think im going to have to do some rescaping tonight

Agree and the Goniopora will be the big looser. I've seen my hammer send out sweepers up to 5"
