That's a crazy unique looking acrylic tank. I would make sure it doesn't leak and is structurally solid, and try to get him to lower the price a bit if possible. It's hard to put prices on used large tanks.
I think here in Southern California because their are so many hobbyist you find more large tanks for sale so something like that around here I would sell for 600-800, but it is a one of a kind unique L shape with a waved front so if someone falls in love with it they will buy it for $1,000.
New that thing probably cost over $2,500. How thick is the acrylic?

Wow. That thing has been on the market for a long time. Its definitely a unique shape. If it's contructed well, that is certaianly a good deal. As I recall, it didn't have a stand or the stand was in pieces. The stand would be the real nightmare if you need to have it built. As for lighting, that's not an issue at all.. At least not if you have the money. 6-8 Kessil 360's would light that tank up like Dodger stadium as would 5-6 Radion XR30's. I can think of many other lights that would work out just fine too but Kessils would be perfect.
As for it being acrylic.. Anybody that has an issue with acrylic, I suggest you take a look at my 480 gallon display that I had custom built 20 years ago. I highly doubt your glass tank would look anywhere near as good let alone be half as structurally sound after that long. Try removing scratches from glass, with or without water.. No need to remove the water to remove scratches with acrylic. Been there done that. That said, it's all relative to the construction.

yea I don't really see lighting being an issue or a sump those could really be anything....only issue would be a stand....it does come with one but states that it needs to be rebuilt having a base to go off of would be half the battle though. it's tempting I'm not far from it....

That has been on lc for a while now.
You can build a stand for it only problem I see is a placement for it with out it looking weird.

What a strange shape tank.. I agree its prob a great deal.. I WONDER Where this was installed.. Looks like maybe under a bar / island ..
As far as building a stand to match its shape... Steel studs Radius Track and Masonite .. Would not be Difficult. You could also use plywood and Gig saw to make the top and Bottom plates then use 2x4 6 inch on center and wrap the Exterior With Masonite or hardboard if you put it in a hot shower for a a but and it will bend into those shapes quite easily.....
Would Love to see this aquascaped and full of corals..
