Good Diatom Cleaners - Not Snails Advice

Hi all

I bought 10 turbo snails which were great and cleaned my Diatoms great. Except when my mom saw them she freaked cos she hates snails.

If I get rid of these what else are good algae cleaners. I don't really want to get an urchin because they can be a bit reef destructive knocking over corals and the like.

Moms... I tell ya.
Snails do the best work in that field. Star fish and blennies i suppose. But the real key is prevention. SKimmer, filtraton, water flow. That kinda thing.
