Good fish for placement with a blue devil damsel ?

Krazy

I cant get this blue devil damsel out for the life of me, he is a mean sucker and attacks any and all fish I've had so far, clowns, etc....

I'd like to get maybe some bigger a lil more aggressive fish to keep him in line, but yet still be nice and colorful and fun to view...

any thoughts or ideas ???

What kind of fish would place well with him?

This is a 72 gallon bowfront with about 160lbs of live rock, 140lbs of sand/live sand, and I have xenia, polyps, small stuff like that....

Crabs and snails as well...

Thanks,
Keith

blue devil damsel, just 1, i had 2 clowns i got from jason but had to give them to my friend before this damn damsel killed em.... =0(

How about a yellow tang and/or a flame angel? You could probably use some herbivores anyway.

Keep in mind that adding aggressive fish will make it even harder to add fish down the road, so you might want to try planning a list of all the fish you'd like to add and go for the most aggressive ones last.

If you're really set on clownfish, you could try one of the larger and more aggressive ones. Afterall, clownfish are damsels too! :)

what kind of clown fish though ?

I'm thinking of using a small size like 22 hook and bait the damsel out if i can ???

I rather stay peaceful, like a pair of percula's royal gramma, etc.. maybe a couple chromis....

if you get em out i could feed him to my angler. just kiddding! yeah a good size maroon clown would become the agressor .

I was thinking along the lines of a big frogfish or a clown trigger personally. Seriously though, this fish just won't be happy sharing the tank.

I ended up with a cinnimon clown about 3-4 inchs big, he's bigger then the damsel and the damsel doesnt seem to phase him, I wonder what else I can add... semi-aggressive ?

ideas?

so now i have a blue devil damsel and a cinnimon clown...

what other fish can I get now with these two ???

I have a 9 inch Puffer, a 6 inch Dragon Wrasse, a Marron Clown the size a childs fist, a Yellow Tang Just a little smaller then the Clown. And the Dam Damsel STILL F' s with them all. I have tried to give him a way with NO LFS wanting him. I do not want to kill him( YET), so good luck.

the clown and the damsel hang out in the same spot of the tank, the blue devil doesnt bother my cinni clown at all...

I'm looking to add something else new, reef safe and semi-aggressive...

any ideas?

I dont want any tangs... =0p

Well I could go out on a limb and suggest a snowflake moray. Just don't get any small fish or shrimp

You could also try something that sticks close to the rocks like a goby.

I redid my entire rockscape and now I have a yellow tang, maybe 2-3 inchs, the cinni clown, also 2-3 inchs, the blue devil damsel, about 1-2 inchs, and a 1 inch royal gramma... they all seem to mix well. no aggression or even signs of stress. they seem more happy if anything, i made lots of nucks n crannys -0) how many more fish do you think I can add and if so what? is it ok for 2 yellow tangs or is just the 1 even pushing it as far for the tang, can i add another cinni clown? and something else thats bold temper / reef safe w/color

thanks for the help so far, the tank is gettin better, and im becoming more and more happy with how its coming along..........
