i want make my nano tank a mushroom tank (with maybe some rics and zoas) so im looking to buy a variety of mushrooms, ive tried the forums here and my local reef forum and havent had much luck. can anyone recommend a good site? i would prefer to buy several types and want somewhere that does priority mail or other reasonably priced shipping so im not spending $30-50 on shipping alone

Mushrooms are absolute pests and I would not recommend introducing them but if you really want a mushroom tank just ask local hobbyists or go to a LFS and buy them cheap. Most hobbyists with shroom infested tanks will happily give you a few specimens. The problem is shrooms multiply like crazy and over time one species will become dominant. Good luck on your tank, I love softies and think it will turn out really nice.

I just bought a dozen beautiful rics from Aquascapers and based on my first experience with them, I'll be back for at least a dozen more once this batch is fully acclimated and attached to my live rock. For Actinodiscus, Rhodactis, and other mushrooms, LiveAquaria offers beautiful specimens regularly in their Diver's Den.

I hear you on the shipping costs, but as long as you buy online there's really no escaping it unless you buy in enough volume for the vendor to waive the charge.

Although I have two shrooms, I have read that they are prolific and VERY tuff to reduce or eliminate. Pull em out, they grow back. You have to kill the rock and start over. Unless you like it that way...

Well try searching for st thomas mushrooms too. They're pretty interesting and different from the average shroom. The place I know of seems to be closed though.

Then there's the crazy slow to grow collector mushroom types. If you manage to grow a field of jawbreakers you'd be the most patient person ever.

I had mushrooms a few years back and they stayed healthy but never reall multiplied or grew to any extent. They weren't Rics , the were Rhodactus

I have 17 rics in my tank and they all came from Morgan, the Reef Gardener. In fact I have well over 100 corals in my little RSM and 90% of them came from her.

She never photoshops her pics, her corals arrive healthy and pest free, plus great customer service.

I consistently find the best mushrooms at random fish stores, you should check out your LFS and use your imagination as to how something might look when it's done coloring up. Also +1 to Aquascapers those guys are awesome :)
