Good swimmers?

I have 210 mixed reef with primarily SPS and Zoas. I currently have some wrasses, cardinals, clowns, dwarf angels and a couple tangs. Most of my current residents spend their time picking though the rocks which is great. I'd like to add a couple fish that prefer to spend their time in open water. I also have two chromis that stay pretty hunkered down. There is a lot of flow in the tank and they seem to avoid it sometimes.

What tangs do you have? My orange shoulder is out in my 220g all the time, along with my Quoyi parrotfish. The flow may keep some fish hunkered down like you mentioned but your tangs should be swimming around the tank regardless. My tank has very high flow also (30,000gph) within the DT and my fish don't mind it a bit

I have a desjardini Sailfin and a Tomini. I was actually considering a orange shoulder and a blonde naso

I would pick one or the other since they both get huge (15"+). I had a Desjaradini, Achilles, maculiceps, and Tomini with my orange shoulder. I have since rehome the maculiceps, Desjaradini and my Achilles got ich and made it a week in QT and passed. Long story short obviously if the fish feel crowded or stressed they won't be swimming around much

you might wanna look into some anthias ... that big a tank, you can add a group... 1 male & 3-5 females. they will school together out .. but I have heard a few say they can be shy too.. maybe somebody who knows more about them can give their 2 cents!

Anthias aren't a great choice for swimming out in the open all the time. A tang or angel is much better suited. Plus you don't have to feed them several times a day like anthias.

I agree they need to be fed more often, but mine are always out and about.
Lyretails are pretty easy to keep fed and colored up.
Mine are so out in the open it's hard to get pics of other fish w/out them photobombing all the time!

High finned snapper.

After a couple of weeks he ate freeze dried krill out of my hand. Swam so fast, like a bullet attacking the shrimp. Got too big for my tank fast and I had to give him to a friend. I loved the fish.
