It isn't non photosynthetic, ie I dont have to spot feed it and has no major care requirements. I have had it under all kinds of lights. I think it has liked the t5s the most though (that's what its under now).
No the color has always been the same, the color difference your seeing is just different color bulbs, the real color is about half way between the second and third pictures.
yeah, we cut 3-5" off of each branch about 6 months ago but they've grown back, the far left 2 or 3 tips is one of those frags that we stuck into a crack that might not be attached, we were selling them for $20 back when we cut them
I have this same coral and it really does grow fast. Seems like anywhere i put it in the tank it does great. BTW i couldnt help but notice that you are switching to soft coral. I have a tank stuffed full of soft coral, if you are interested in some frags or colonies let me know.
For the longest time the coral kept growing from its original stalk, but within the last year it has grown two new stalks from the encrusted base...pretty cool.
I'm definately going to have to frag it a bunch to get it into our new tank.
Sweet, yeah reef freak I will keep you in mind. Im tired of ordering online and paying a ton for shipping. So as soon as we get it up and running we will be stopping over for sure.
There are definately some people on the GIRS forum that have our frags...how are they doing?
