Gorgonian Question

My purple frilly gorgonian had its polyps fully extended for the last month, but I fed it some reef bugs 2 days ago and its polyps havent been extended since? Is this normal or is something wrong?

I'd say its normal...

Sometimes they are open for weeks, then closed for days..

Do they only open when they are hungry?

I have different gorgonian, but it and the other corals are opening, when the food is present in the water.
