Gorilla crabs and freshwater

So I found this large gorilla crab, in my tank and I removed the piece of LR that he was hiding in. I fresh water dipped the rock for 15 hours, but he did not come out, and I even added Revive to the freshwater. Is it safe to assume he is dead, but stuck inside the rock? How long can a gorilla crab live in freshwater? I am 100 percent positive that he was in that piece, because my tank is shallow and BB, so very easy to observe, and I watched it climb inside the rock before removal.

I have boiled rock on numerous occasions. With and without zoas on them.

Is there any documented instances of respiratory distress in an otherwise healthy adult? If the person had COPD or another respiratory ailment, there may be a chance of an exacerbation, but doubtful especially if they are outside.

Thanks I don't want to sound paranoid, but I also believe that was more than enough, it's just that he refused to come out of the rock, and I have a Catalina Goby that would have eventually been a snack for him/her.

There is actually. One guy almost killed himself, his wife and his dog. I would have to search around for the thread though.

EDIT -> Found it. Here you go.

Wow, there ya go. Don't boil live rock inside, and don't try to deep fry a frozen turkey, who knew!?!?

Thanks for the link, that is an important one that I have bookmarked.
