today me and my mom whent shopping for my birthday and went to circuit city and got a olympus 7.1mp sp-320 digital camera but i can have it until my birthday on thurs. never had a olympus, any body know if there good?
also if i dont want the camera i want to get one of those pentax water proof cameras. but at circuit city the guy said that they will only last 30mins under the water at a time. is that true?

It's not a bad little camera, the sensors are a little noisy for my liking, but the sp-310 has a 2cm super macro which would lend itself to some nice close-ups, I don't know about the 320 model. The 3x optical zoom, again on the 310 model, leaves a little to be desired, the 320 might be upgraded from that.

I don't know anything about the Pentax mentioned...

I have a Pentax *ist DL SLR and so far love it. Haven't really messed with the advanced features much yet, but overall it seems really nice. I too am not familiar with a water proof version, but the model I have I'm happy with.

Try to 'learn' to shoot in the RAW mode, the JPG's out of the camera tend to look a little over-processed and you can't really recover from that.

Yea, that's been my biggest challenge. I got lazy with the "Auto levels" in CS2 under JPEG and was flustered to see that under RAW format it's really pretty tedious to do level adjustments without puting things way outa whack. I haven't come up with much time to get "good" material to shoot so I'm kind of in a slump with expanding my experience :( .
