got a new purple haddoni - concerned

He is better. Please continue to update. Any of your other Haddoni show any problem? Observer them closely.

Looks like he is doing even better today. My other haddoni's are doing great and show no symptoms of anything being wrong. Can someone tell me why he has all this stringy type stuff behind him. I siphoned up a bunch of it yesterday during water change and i just see more of it today.

I know nothing about anemones at all, other than aiptasia (cough), but it looks like the slime many soft corals produce to clean their surface of contaminants. Could it be doing that?

that is just mucus strands that isn't an indication of any problem. don't worry about it. Just remove any strand and solid with water change.

He does look great. I would treat him for 7 days before bring him back to DT. Why seven days? Doctor just pull 7 days out of the air, seem reasonable. Addition to this is there is another thread where one of the Gigantea was treated for 5 days, everything looks great but he relapsed and did not make it.

Ok sounds good, and just to clarify, I am to dose for 7 days correct?

Stringy stuff just looks like the mucus from the foot. I wouldn't worry about it. Nem looks much better.

Good luck I am headed on vacation. I want to see how this turns out, but will have sporadic internet.

Very nice anemone and glad he's recovering . Last pic looked like he's doing fine .
I have never seen a purple haddon thou . Must be rare indeed nice !!!

Thanks

Thanks everyone for the support! If it wasn't for the members of RC, I definitely would not have the success I am having to date, this forum is just awesome. The nem continues to do well, here is a pic of him again this morning:

Treatment should be complete by Monday night and I can return him to the DT on Tuesday if all continues well. He seems to like the place he is in right now in the HT as he's firmly attached to the bottom glass.

Here are today's pics on his progress, looks pretty good to me.

Morning pic:

This afternoon:

He actually moved today a little bit to the left, the Disney mug got close to him somehow and he actually moved away from it...go figure :lmao:

Consider keep it 2 or 3 days without treatment before put him back. Ofcourse this is to protect your two very nice anemones in your tanks
