Got a new Wavebox, can I get help?

Having a hard time getting the wave/surge action going. I am using two magnets - put the water line right on the wave drawing when all pumps are off. My tank is 64x32x24 - I haven't really messed with the white dial, just kept it on 100%. I started with the knob on the controller at 0 - and have slowly increased.

(edit - to clear that up, i meant i kept the little white dial with the arrow at 100% and the knob that i'm adjusting is the one on the controller)

I placed the Wavebox on the side panel - right in the middle. I also got new magnets so its stable. Is the positioning the problem? Does it really HAVE to be in a corner?

I also have some Streams - if those would help to create the wave, please LMK how. I have a 7094 - but not the 7095.

Thanks,

David

OK got it dialed a little further - I am getting a decent rolling wave on the top, but not too much going on down low. Please LMK what I can do to get that rocking going.

Also, I'd like to be able to run a couple Streams independent of the WB. Two 6101's with 6200 screens (or just 6201's if needed). So if I dedicated another Stream (6100) to the WB - or sold that 6100 and got an extension, that would be OK. So long as I could run those two other Streams.

I'm pretty much at the point where I've messed with a lot of equipment and I'm tired, so I'll just buy whatever it takes. :) I want to get a solid rocking motion for LPS, and still have some strong current for SPS/water quality.

Thanks Roger.

I will say the first wavebox i setup took me quite a while to figure out as I was adjusting too much at a time. Leave the pump at 100% power but the dial that sets the speed of the on/off pulse is the touchy one. A friend explained it best for what i have seen which is basicaly if you can see yourself move the dial you are moving it too much at once.

Are there any rocks or anything close in it's line of sight? As for the movement in the tank you really wont see alot of "flow" but if there is bubbles or detritous or something in the water colum you should see it rocking back and forth. The wavebox to me is a good supplemental flow but not for main flow. I think a pair of 6101 streams would be a good compliment.

A friend of mine(Treg on here) has a very similar sized tank with a wavebox and a couple streams. He has a vid somewhere that shows the amount of wave movement he get with his which may help you to visualize, maybe pm him to see if he can send to you

As Shawnz said, it doesn't have to be in a corner but obstacles between the wavebox outlet and the far end of the tank impede flow and it is very easy to be close but no cigar in your tuning. The goal is one wave, crest on one side, trough on the other and when it is set up right it should stay contant.
