just bought a tiger pistol shrimp which wachman goby will go with him.

I do not think I want the yellow watchman what else to choose from ?

Jaw fish do they pair with pistol shrimp ?

Aurora, YWG, Hi-Fins are all ones I have kept with them, I'm sure they'd go w/ any shrimp goby of the stonogobiops, cryptocentrus, amblyeleotris families. Yashias would be cool, there's a Blue watchman goby, just like the yellow only like a dark blue/black color. Randall's gobies are kind of cool lookin too.

Well, from what I heard their coloration actually looks really cool with the randall's shrimp. I'm guessing it has to do w/ their price tag and popularity. I'm getting a couple next week. It all depends on the fish's personality I guess. There's plenty of other gobies out there that will pair up and not be 2x as much like the Yashas are.

"why are the yasha so cool Ive been leaning towards one but what makes them better then the rest ?"

The yashia's color pattern and extra long dorsal spine is what makes this goby very attractive. Google it.

I mentioned the aurora because it is relatively inexpensive and rather long (4-6") and lanky almost eel like. And the alternating pink bars on the body give it that old time barber shop pole look. But it can be aggressive, too. It tore up a red stripe goby after living pretty peacefully together over a year. But they do look similar so I think it was a territory dispute.

Are the yasha goby a good eater what do they like to eat.

I have mysis shrimp so Im sure they eat that do they eat pellet and flake food also ?

Where online are the best place to order a yasha Ive seen blue zoo aquatics and marine depote live and live aquaria any where else ?

Yashia do not seem too picky on food as mine eat flakes, pellets, and frozen mysis and brine.

I have not ordered from any of the places you listed except for liveaquaria. They have not disappointed me yet.

LA doesn't generally carry the yasha's in single order form. They're usually in the divers den, and even then they usually come with a randall's shrimp. But every now and again I see them just as a pair without the shrimp. Expect to pay somewhere between $50-70 each depending on where you get it, and more if they're paired. I'm still kicking myself for not jumping on the Blue Zoo special when they had them for $30 each

I love my yasha pair!! They have tons of personality!

I got the yasha and it went to the other side of the tank not where the pistol is.

Well I decided to hurry up this process and I took some airline tubing and nudged my goby to the other side of the tank.

He went over to the pistol hole I heard the pistol snap and the goby came back.

I nudge him over 1 more time this time he stayed for awhile the pistol did not do anything but knew he was there. I watched and nothing really happened I went and did something else for a few came back and the goby is back on the other side.

Im guessing now I do not have a match but at least they know they are in the same tank.

How do they pair up do they see each other feel each other out and then stay together ?

that's just odd. I just got 2 yasha's today. After acclimating I scooped them up one at a time in a net and put another smaller net over that one to keep them in it. I put the net close to the randall's hole. They both went around the rock, one went in the tunnel and has been in there since. The other yasha is still lingering around a bit behind a rock but it didn't go in the hole at all so I'm sure he'll find the other one or this one soon. My other gobies just paired up right away, didn't need to do anything w/ the tigers. They had burrows and the fish went right in and married up no problem. Give it some time, they know where eachother is at now so it may take a little time.

I decided to redo all my rocks in the tank and when I was done and added my stuff back in my pistol and yasha seemed to pair up.

They are both in the same holes now with the pistol making more holes everywhere.

Must of been the change and they found each other who knows.
