Interesting.. Let us know how it works out. Not sure if I want to guinea pig this, still having phosphate trouble with my BRS rock from a while ago.

I'm waiting for op to respond with update. but amazon reviews seems good and goes a few years back.

brs rocks are known for that.

The rock is great. My nitrates are at 0.10 phosphates at 0.004. It is a little dense for my liking, I mean its no pukani and this kind of rock is known for being dense. But still lots of places for pods to hide.

is that all 40 lbs of it? (except for the tonga sticks I suppose).
what size tank?

maybe similar to marco rocks. I know marco rocks are a bit on the heavy side.

It's actually only 15lbs or so in a IM 30L tank. The odd looking rock in the center is the one made by marine pure. It's basically reef saver rock that brs sells

Yours looks nice. There's some purple looking rock on Amazon that looks nice. I'm considering it. Has lots of nooks and crannies in the pics. Think it's like a 40lb box for $150. Might grab a couple boxes.

If your gonna spend that much, who cares about purple rocks, get good quality upfront, the purple will come with time...

ok. that looks pretty decent.

I'll place my order.

almost bought the aquamaxx rocks from marine depot, costs twice as much.

You're right! I should get the good stuff that doesn't cost as much but looks just as good.

In my opinion, I personally recommend Marco Rocks. I do not have any affiliation with them other than purchasing their rocks for my first build over 10yrs ago, and then adding to that stack when going to a bigger build 3yrs after that. I like porous and they are porous, and fairly lite for their size. Again, only my opinion...

marco rocks price has increased quite a lot from 10 years ago. they used to be reasonably priced. I think I paid $1/lb a while back. Now they are $2/lb. I know their rocks are quite a lot heavier than the rocks that came with a used setup I recently bought. so when op said the amazon rocks are quite dense, I think it is safe to guess it is similar to marco rocks.
