Got Gas?

Ice storm, snow, who knows what else or even if? Do you have plenty of gas for the generator just in case?

I'm thinking we get nothing but rain. Quote me I said it here first.

I will point and laugh if we get hit hard.. but I tend to agree...

Sorry but will disagree

The cold front is very powerful. The moisture is moving in from the SW. We will be impacted, dont know how much, but I think we will get some wintery precip

Did i miss something is there some apocalyptic snow storm on the way??? Or are you just discussing the future winter weather for the saint louis area?

24 hours from now: ice, snow, sleet, freezing rain, dogs and cats -living together, Trottie downloading google toolbar and using spellcheck - IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!

Since the weathermen say it is going to hit us, and we all know they are never wrong, you better quick run to the store and buy up all the bread, milk and eggs before everyone else does, before it is all gone. Once you have it all, you can go home and make French toast.

I am mostly stocked up, just need batteries and someone to keep me warm. lol

You can't call Capo for that anymore now Jack... What will you do?!?

Suicide is always a viable option. :D

I really don't think it will be that bad here, the ground is way too warm.

I don't mind the snow, it's the ice. When we lived in South City we got iced into our house. All of the doors and windows got a layer of ice on them and wouldn't open.

That is where most of the ice is supposed to come from. It will be melting the snow and ice, but as the temp is supposed to drop into the teens tomorrow night, I think the ground will be cold enough eventually.

From what I see on the weather, they are predicting 2-4 inches (sort of like Capo I guess, don't have any first hand experience) of ice and snow tomorrow, then significant accumulations of snow tomorrow night. And Snow showers friday morning...

I love winter...

yeah I heard its gonna be so bad, we might get 1-2" of accumulation

the whole area will shut down

Yeah, it'll be awful huh? You've never experienced something like this have you? It's amazing how a city can function with an inch of snow on the ground isn't it.

Lyin' Dave Murray is saying 6-10 inches of snow after the 1/2" of ice. I'm predicting a large number of strained backs, several broken hips and a big baby boom next August/September.

What happened in the last 15 years or so? When it snowed the highways never slowed down, people drove with confidence, dogs and cats didn't sleep togather and cows came home. I think we've been invaded by a mass population shift of people from Florida and Arizona! We also have 4X4's trying to drive at 70 mph(too fast in winter weather) around the cars going 20(although it's too slow, they have no confidence and should stay home)! People think that 4X4's can handle high speeds but the only advantage is really on getting moving from a slow speed or dead stop. When you hit the brakes it's just 4 tires still.

Wasn't that a big silver Dodge 4x4 Durango that went blasting past me sometime last winter?!?

You are right on about the people driving either way too fast or too slowly. Stopping on hills (or trying to) and applying too much of brake or accelerator on ice is the worst thing you can do.

I bet if you were coming to an intersection on a hill, and could see CLEARLY that no cars were coming, not even Officer Nick would give a ticket for rolling through a stop sign or light...
