Got Gas?

Here in Highland, it has been a constant on and off. I had to go in to work last night at 7pm. I would say lost power at least 10 times. It was never back on for more than 45 min. Trees were giving way all night long. Finally about 330 this morning after a main transformer blew, The bosses said we could go home, yippe, or so I thought. Went out to try to get into my car, and it was frozen solid. It took us from about 4am to almost 6am just to get on of the doors to open. One of the maintenance men had to bring a heater of sometype, It looked more like a blow torch, to melt the ice off of my doors. And it took almost another 45 minutes to get the car warmed up enough to get the ice off the windshield. So I got stuck staying till 7 anyway. But I at least got paid to sit on my but all night long.

Just had to say, It was really sort of wierd. The town is totally quiet, and dark. All you heard all night long is trees falling over, and transformers blowing. Sort of creepy.

Chelsey how is your mom and dad doing? Farmington is a train wreck as far as our system is concerned.

ramtheory,
Are you a native of Columbia or a transplant? Columbia is where I grew up and still refer to as home, even tho I haven't lived there for 30 years.

Parents have no electricity and the phones suck...my dad's cell phone doesn't work and my mom's is almost out of battery. Here's what I'm dealing with:

Chelsey we are working to get generators down there now. That area is a priority due to the many outages. All of our locations down there are without power.

You could say I am a native to the area. I grew up in Millstadt and spent time in Columbia. Columbia isn't too bad place to live. People are nice and still away from the hustle and bustle of saint louis county.
