Got my Bali Alor!

I just got 20 lbs of Uncured Bali Alor and it was brilliant. I haven't seen live rock this good in a very long time.

Any pics? I have been trying to decide on what rock to order if I can't find any local deals. The Bali Alor seems to be one of the better choices if you like the fiji look.

Would like to see some pics also.

I'm gonna need rock in about 4 weeks and I'm undecided about getting LR or marco key largo rock.

The marco rock looks to have some great shapes. Worried if I go with LR I'm gonna get round shapeless rocks that hard to aquascape with.

The rock in this picture is 100% Bali Alor from PA

Yep, my rock looks every bit as good as that. I can't get any good pics of mine because I haven't installed any lights yet and the flash in a dark tank loses everything. The best thing I can say about the Bali Alor I got is that when you look at it in the tank, it genuinely looks like rock I would see on a dive.

Glad you're happy with the rock!

The Bali Alor is without a doubt the nicest rock on the market right now. This stuff is "REAL" liverock, not the other stuff that is shipped in via ocean freight, and been out of the water for up to 2 weeks. Bali is fresh, and arrives to us after only being out of the water for 24-48hrs.

If you're looking for actual liverock, with awesome shapes, the Bali Alor is the way to go!

Jeremy,

Does this get shipped to your door or have to pick up at airport?

We can either ship directly to your door via UPS, or to your airport, whichever is easier for you. We also sell our rock by net weight, not gross weight. This means that if you order 40lbs of rock, you will receive a box that weighs in the 45 - 47lbs range. We do not charge rock weight price for packaging materials. A lot of places you order 40lbs of rock from you will receive 34-36lbs, while the other weights is packaging material.

Rock mixing is more personal taste than anything. Some hobbyists don't mind different textures of rock within the same aquascape, while others want all of the rock to be of the same texture and look. It's really all personal preference to be honest. Texture wise the Bali Alo and Marco is somewhat similar.

How many pounds (just rough estimate) would you say for a 48x24x20 going with a two island aquascape....minimalist type aquascaping.

I would do somewhere in the 55lb - 65lb range. That should allow you to keep a really open aquascape, and not fill the tank up very high. We can also pull the rock, and if we feel like it's starting to add up to more than what you're looking for we can always adjust the order to remove some.

Will definitely be ordering some of this as well.

I'm the one you emailed regarding the ATI Powermodule bulb combo....going to be placing a pretty big order next week.
