got my first pony, come see Tigger

I was browsing with no intent to buy, looking at seahorses at different stores, but the second lfs that I visited had tiger tails (H. Comes) and I couldn't resist since that's my favorite species. He's in the 20g for now and seems to be doing ok... he's poised over the chaeto ball watching for pods. They gave me a pretty big chunk of grape calerpa so hopefully that'll take off soon, tho it's already a nice size.

Just the one? Comes dont come around very often, I'd have gotten a pair. He is lovely. I always like how graceful comes are with their long snouts.

Jordan, no worries, he is in the 20 gallon for now. He's simply gorgeous, now just wish I'd get to see him eat something... he hovers over the mysis and the chaeto ball but I haven't actually seen him eat and that worries me, but then I'm a new mommy too so a bit paranoid.
I wanted to get two, but I was just worried about him so I thought I'd just get Tigger and see how he does, and perhaps next weekend I'll go get one more...
the lfs I got him at says that they just get whatever is shipped, and this time they got these... I almost lost it, I couldn't believe they had them!

I went and got another, all they had were males, even yesterday. Tigger looked so lonely with noone to dance with, and he wasn't eating, so now he has a buddy and they've been cruising around and hitching to each other and well, wish them well. All water tests come out good, so I hope they don't mind their "apartment" until their home is ready!

These are probably WC and they are a difficult species to get to eat frozen. My pair would not even eat live brine shrimp and I had to buy expensive live shrimp to keep them eating. Also H.comes is one of the more difficult species to keep. You need to make sure that they get something live to eat that is small enough to fit in their very narrow snouts.

I second what Bruce said - you may have to search lots of LFS to find enough tiny live ghost shrimp to feed them. They are very difficult to train to frozen IME. Also, if you visit www.seahorse.org, there is a vendor who goes by noni who grows live SW shrimp fairly inexpensively, and can get you the size you need.

Well now I was told that they were captive raised... then they told me how they used pregnant WC males and reared the babies. Ok, and they said that they were eating frozen mysis. Well they've been hunting the tank pretty well and the lfs gave me a bag of live brine... not the best idea I know but I want them to eat something... I still feed mysis as well. I hope they do well for me, they're so pretty...
