Got new Anemone in LFS,help identify

I got a new Anemone for my 300 gallons tank... it have purple tentacle with blue tips on it. My clowns dive straight on the anemone! I tried to take pictures but poor pictures using phone cam. The video is better. Ill post two videos... I hope someone can identify the anemone... Thanks again guys!

Even though it doesnt look like it it is a video link to photobucket. With that being said it is way too blue to really see much detail. If I had to take a stab in the dark I would lean toward a Mag. and only because the tenticles appear not to taper and the oral disk looks more wavy than the normal appearance of a LTA. There is one spot in the video where it appears that one of the tenticles actually has two tips like a Y.

Hard to see but I would agree with H. Magnifica. If it crawls to the sand or puts it's foot in a hole in the rock then its definitely not but if it stays up on top and doesn't change shape much that would be the best guess based on the video.

yeah some of the tentacles forms a Y shape... one tentacle from the base and splits into two...

I think im leaning towards H. Magnifica...

i have 3-250 watts MH... in terms of flow i have Tunze 1-6205, 1-6105 and 2-6055 run by 7096 will this be sufficient for a H. Magnifica?

it keeps on moving... the other day its on top of a rock, now its on top of my zoas...

Hey ptan, I responded to your pm. At first I looked at the pics and didn't see any anemones, then I figured out how to watch the video, duh. I, like the others, think you have a mag there. Your tank looks fine to keep one, you just need to supply it with a large, flat piece of liverock, preferably up midway in the tank. In the pm I go into more detail about what I've observed over the years in keeping this species.

thanks gary for the wonderful info u provided me... it finally settle to the top most rock in my tank... it stayed there for 3 days already... i hope it will not move anymore... thanks again... Merry Christmas.

its quite a nice anemone.. but i hate the fact that it keeps on moving for the first 10 days of it on my tank... but right now it finally settle for 3 days already... so im keeping my finger crossed that it wont move...

Looks good, pretty colors. Also looks like a spot a mag would like--on top of a rock without any other rocks or the aquarium glass touching it. If you keep your water parameters, especially nitrates, in check it will probably stay put. As I mentioned to you before, they won't die from elevated nitrates, but they won't look their best and they will begin to shift around on their rock or even let go altogether. Other variables which I think you have covered are: randon water flow, bright light, and specific gravity ~1.026, temperature 80ish-82ish.

It depends on how much you feed, to some extent. Though in nature they can get rather large (upwards of a yard), most are a foot to a foot-and-a-half. When smaller, if you feed them several times per week, they grow to larger than a foot quickly (months to a year). Once they get around a foot they seem to slow their growth. Perhaps they would continue to grow rapidly if you feed them ever increasing amounts, but I am reluctant to feed that much.
