I'm a MILLI-naire

Earlier that same day of the rockslide, I went to four Orange County California LFS and got two very nice Millepora frags during my trip.

Thanks Cherubfish, I think like it better now too...it took me a while to warm up to the new look, but since I got rid of the Coral Beauty, the little fish that are left have enough swimming space through the rocks so no more need for wide open swimming spaces. And this new rockwork also gives me more places for corals.

Next on the list of things to do:

1) Sell Bluespot Jawfish because as much as I love this fish, it is a greedy eater and chases all his tankmates and takes their food away during feeding time. So he has to go.

2) This will now give me the chance to upgrade my lighting so I will be going open top and getting a 150w mh sunpod.

3) Lastly, will be moving most of my lps and softies to my 225g and concentrating on more sps, acans and zoanthids down low in this tank.

Stay tuned for pictures of changes once I get them done within next couple of weeks.

Hey Cherub, as crazy as this might sound, but no I don't test for alc but have tested in the 400+ in calcium. As far as salt, have just been getting water that's mixed at my LFS. However I have decided to start mixing my own saltwater and will either be using Coralife or Tropic Marine. What salt have you used and prefer or recommend?

HogWinslow - Thanks, am looking forward to going open top and getting some more sps with the addition of MH lighting provided by a sunpod : )

Thanks for asking Cherub, just sold the Bluespot Jawfish this weekend. As hard as it was for me to do, but I had to think of the rest of my fish not being able to eat because of this greedy dart that would shoot out and grab all the food. Now onto buying my metal halide sunpod and going open top. Will update as soon as I get it and set it up. Thanks

Hello J-soler, thanks for inquiring about the tank, lol...Things have been crazy lately and I have been neglecting the tank a bit. The update is that I did buy a new bag of Tropic Marine salt from a local reefer for a reasonably cheap price so now to start mixing my own salt. Still haven't bought my sunpod, but hopefully will get to it soon. On a sad note, I lost that Neon green birdsnest last night and had to remove it as it had lost about 95% of its tissue :mad2: Will be testing my levels today to see what could have caused it.

On another note, I really like your avatar as I would love to some day own an F-50 a.k.a Ferrari, F-50 :D

Oh yeah, duh, I don't know what I was thinking :rolleye1:
But please no gang signs in my thread
Will be doing a water change today and hope to take some pics as well. Will also post my tank parameters. Wish me luck :o

Such a nice car

Yes they sure are HomeSlizzice, but I'd be more than happy with an F-430 or even a 360 modena. Is that a McCosker's or a Carpenters on your avatar? Looks like a McCosker's to me but not quite sure as I have one but doesn't look exactly like the one in your avatar. Great looking fish either way. Mine must have got into a fight with a Bristleworm last week because one day it had bristles sticking out of its eye and body, poor fish. Took him a couple of days to shake all those bristles but now back to normal. Fish are funny sometimes.

Update time!!!

Update time!!!

Ok, time to update this thread with some pictures. Did tests last night and also did a water change. My parameters are all where they should be so I'm thinking the only reason my Green Birdsnest died was because of the pc lighting. Also removed some LPS (2 Frogspawn and 1 Pearl Bubble) to make room for more acans, zoanthids and eventually some SPS once I upgrade to MH lighting. So onto the pics..

And here is a nice zoanthid colony that I'm holding for a friend as she had a tank crash due to her chiller malfunctioning.

So what do you guys think, should i have left the LPS in or does it look nicer now that I removed them?
