Great Reefers = Great Friends

I haven't seen Roland in a while but I get e-mails....I'd bet he's looking at this thread right now (I just sent it to him)...I think Kenny's right, mostly fish.

Yep, ditto to all the old schoolers, Paul, Lyndel, Ali, Wilbur, Roland, and my local buddies Jeff and Dan. I wouldn't be where i am now without you guys!!!! Group hug!! :D

Yeah its kinda cool to read this stuff...I am the only guy in my circle that does this...everybody I know says oooh and awe when they would see my tank...but always say I am crazy in the amount of time and money this obsession sucks up...They dont understand...
RC has been my only connection..
I hope I am around long enough to see alot of the old timers come back or at least the "old time" mentality...

shout outs to...

Bebo77 for providing constant supply of beautiful avatars

Coast2coast6362 for brightening up my holiday spirit

gcarroll for his assistance on the MD sale (where I scored tons of nice stuff)

To the folks at MD who made the fantastic blowout sale possible

Roland

Roland

hey guys and gals,
I just got off the phone with Roland. Long story short, he had a pump failure last week and lost all of his fish and looks like most for his corals. Anybody who know's Roland know's he had some AWSOME fish in that tank.

He was pretty down when I talked to him. Now might be a good time to send him a few words of encouragement.

Mark

yep i got an email from him also -------the email did sound bad --i know he is hurting ----roland if u are checking this out and u need some help let me knwo buddy

Mark, you need to stop spreading the curse around, I'm still not over it.

Roland, I know you've been through this before, hang in there bro!

Man, I bet this Roland guy is a great cat. If you read this thread I am more than willing to do whatever i can to help out. Please let me know if i can lend you a temporary pump till you get everything worked out.

Thanks guys for the encouragement. Just another setback with my tank but I'm starting to get used to it as it doesn't faze me as much as it had in the past. I guess when I start replacing the losses, then will the pain begin once I see the bill!!! :mad2:

As Mark mentioned, I thought it was my Sequence pump that started the chain reaction that caused the death of my prize fish but after the cleanup, I found out later that it was a failed heater that caused the water to dip down to 68 degrees. All my fish with the exception of my ornate leopard(a gift from Christian, aka Doomweasel) and my mystery wrasse died. I guess they come from deeper waters and were able to sustain the cold. My cleanup crew(cleaner shrimp, urchins and snails) also survived. Anyhow, now that all my angels are gone and once I get this tank back up to par, I'll try my hand on sps' again since Mark always thought it was my angels that kept me from doing so and I think he might be right. Hard to believe I had bought an extra heater just in case of this type of incident but I never took it out of the box. :(

Look forward to seeing some of you guys again if we ever have some kind of reunion. I say party at Ramon's!!!! :celeb1:

Roland, glad to see you are still hanging around. I got a slightly larger tank than the last one you saw, so when you are ready, I am sure I can find more than a few SPS gems to get you back into the swing of things :D

Wait a second! haha. I gotta get the wife's permission for that!! On the other hand, if you want to get back into SPS and you're willing to make the drive down here you're more than welcome to a frag of everything from my tank. Just bring a large cooler and lots of ziploc bags!

Thanks Kenny! I here you're quite the collector these days. I do still run the MH ballast I got from you. Prolly the only thing other than my Zephrant top-off that hasn't failed me yet. ;)

Wow Ramon! It'll be like deja vu all over again! You were the first to offer frags many moons ago and it was nice seeing that "2001 TOTM". Thanks buddy!

Ken - I think if we keep puttin' on the pressure, Ramon's wife will eventually give in and let us reef bums in but if she doesn't crack under pressure, then there's always Scott's place!:D
