i just arrived home from the outer banks NC. I decided before i went down that i would take my snorkeling gear in hopes of snorkeling a little bit if the water wasnt completely murky. much to my surprise, during more than half of the week the water was crystal clear and seemed clearer the farther from shore you swam. about 150 yards off shore the water was about 20-30 feet deep and you could see clearly the entire way down. i got some pictures but only with a cheap disposable underwater camera. after i get the film developed ill try to scan and post some pics if they turn out ok.
critters viewed:
*3 stingrays
*lots of croaker
*lots of kingfish
*many schools of bluefish (i was in the middle of very large schools of blues, i was completely surrounded)
*several pipefish
*some kind of puffer
*flounder
*lady crabs
*hermits
*cool jellyfish
the snorkeling was awesome and i will try to post some pics if they turn out ok.
