but this footage shows one on one... the whale flips the shark over to induce a catatonic state.

Whale hits sealion to draw shark in and then eats both.

Gawd Orcas are intelligent!

yeah i watched that. Anyone see on the new frozen planet series the buffalo down a fellow buffalo to get eaten by wolves so he could get away.

I saw that. It might have been accidental but it sure did appear the bigger guy ran down that other one on purpose!

I seen both..The Whale one was quite interesting,it seems it was not just a one time deal,That pod of Orca hunt great white sharks..It was also interesting in that show, it came out that White sharks run in fear from those Orca..

That Buffalo one was bad lol...It goes to show the old saying,you dont need to be fast,just faster than the others being chased down lol

I thought the whole tonic immobility reaction was fascinating, but the potential that the Orca might have "known" how to do this to subdue the GW is AMAZING!
