Green Algie update

Just returned from michigan. Of course first thing before comming home stoped at lfs bought 2 Mexican snains ans 2 two that burry in sand can't think of right names now to Algie .Before I left on wed. scraped 3 sides of tank was real green sand snails plumbing ect . Turned off 130 watt actinate and white day light . Left moon light on. Came homr tonight algie nearly gone Now what caused it to grow in a day and a halpf and get 80% better in the same time is 12 hours of 130 watt light too much they come on actinate 2 hrs actinate and white 8 hrs just actinate at nite 2 hrs then moon light rest of the time.
 
I take it your talking about your 25 gl tank. I don't think that the lighting schedule has anything to do w/ your algae issue. I do think that if you just started your tank, say less than 3 months ago, you will have issues w/ algae. Not that you are doing anything wrong, just that a tank under a yr old is still a baby and has to go through alot of phases before it settles down and starts acting predictably.

If you are a long haul trucker, do you have someone to keep an eye on your tank while you are working? Just curious.
 
Yes Joshua my wife is here and my daughter in law looks in on it. My wife purchased the tank set up and it was a mess. But with the help of the local shop Milton Minie reef in Milton Vermont tank is turning around. Bruce and Trudy owners of shop have been a great help.
