Green and Target Mandarin Compatibility

I had a mated pair of Target Mandarins when I left for vacation. When I returned three weeks later I had only the male. I think the large,white hairy crab ate it but that is only speculation. I had the pair for a year and they both seemed well fed.

Would a female Green(aka psychadelic) Mandarin get along with a male Target Mandarin? Is their a chance they could even possibly become a mated pair?

If you don't remove the crab [a hairy crab is not a good thing] you will probably have no mandarins.

I'm already in the process of trying to remove it. Anyone know if a male and female mandarin of different species would get along?
