Green bubble algae question...

What's the easiest way to get this out of my tank? I have 5-6 bubbles on one rock and would like to get rid of it. Thanks.

Take the rock out and pick it off.....

What ever you do DO NOT POP THEM IN THE WATER!!!!!

yes, because emerald crabs are allowed to pop the bubbles in the water, you aren't....

I was hoping to avoid taking the rock out, but I might have to.

If the bubbles are in an accessible site to you, just reach in there with something that you can use to kind of pry under them with, like a CLEAN flat blade screwdriver or something like that. Kind of dig into the rock under them and usually they come loose quite easily. Have net ready to net them out with.

if 5 or 6 is all you have consider yourself lucky-- no need to take the rock out, just pull them off in place.

I would say if you can remove the rock fairly easily take care of it yourself. I purchased an emerald crab, and he has done nothing with bubble algea.

Well I was able to pop them off with a turkey baster and suck them up. Worked pretty well.

there are different varieties of emeralds--some eat the bubble algae and control it quite effectively.
Talk to the LFS guy before you purchase.
I have had three of them in the tank for over 9 months and they have elimated the problem of bubble algae.
I am happy to hear you were able to scrape them off but it would still be good to purchase a couple as preventative measures.
