How do you get rid of green bubble alge ? I have 4 emerald crabs in the tank now for 1 month and no change . I think its getting worse. its covering eveything.

Any help would be appreciated !

thanks

I have a friend who has been battling that for more than a year. After studying all available info and using every known method the algea persists. He is currently working on obtaining a small dose of Agent Orange because that's the only thing left that he hasn't tried :)

I had some on a few rocks. Emerald crabs did nothing to it. They avoided it at all costs. I finally got fed up and scrubed every rock in bucket of fresh salt water. I rinsed each rock off in 3 buckets of clean salt water and put back into display. It is extreme but it worked.

Thanks for the responces. I dont want to remove all of my rock since most of it has coral growing on it . wow what a pain:(

Whatever you do, do not pop the bubble in the tank because it will spread everywhere. Try and take the pieces out and roll it off with your fingers.

I have also took big peices out with a syphon. The algea was so big the tube got clogged.

There is so much of it i guess manual removal looks like the only way.
Thanks for all the options everyone!
I will see if i can get a pic up to look at
