Green bubble tip anemone

The Cat Burglar

New member
Hi Guys just wondered could anyone help me on an issue with my green bubble tip anemone? Over the past couple of weeks he is not extending his tentacles like he used to. I have posted 2 pics below one when I got him about 3 months ago and one from this morning, I moved him this afternoon to an "island" of his own just incase he was being irritated by something in the tank.

My levels are
PH - 8.2
Nitrate - 2
Nitrite - 0
Dkh - 8
Calcium - 450
Ammonia - 0

Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

29 gallon tank. The tank is 80 x 35 cm and my current lighting set up is below

1 x TCM Aquaray Reef White - 18k Kelvin
1 x TCM Aquaray Marine White - 14k Kelvin
2 x TCM Aquaray Reef Blue - 465n

On his travels around the tank my anemone had settled beside my torch coral for the last few werks, could it be that the torch coral's sting has caused the anemone to retract?????

And if so will it recover now I've moved it to his own little nem island were he can't sting corals or be stung????

Moving around tends to indicate the anemone is not thrilled with something. Way too many variables to give you a specific answer.

Most certainly other inhabitants, fish, shrimp, corals, other inverts, etc., can tick off BTAs. BTAs can recover from the most amazing abuse when the conditions are right.

After years, I eventually kept my BTAs separate from my mixed tanks to keep them looking their best. They can and will move from the best location you have selected to their choice of best location at the most unfortunate moment.
