Green Carpet Question

I currently have a 90gallon mixed reef with a green carpet. I have a 4 inch sandbed, that the carpet has burried its base into and stayed in the same spot for over a year. My question is I'm about to move everything into my new 120 gallon tank which will be bare bottom. Will this be a problem for the carpet or will it just attach to the live rock or glass bottom? If anyone has any advice either positive or negative please reply.

Thanks chris

Carpets do prefer the sand. There are probably people here who have them with a bare bottom tank, you may want to ask that specifically over in the clownfish and anemones forum.

When I had a green Stichodactyla Haddoni it attached to the LR and the bottom of the substrate so I don't see a problem. Do you know the which one you have ? I believe the Haddoni is the only one that prefers a SB but should adjust to a BB tank.

BTW it's much easier to remove the Anemone when attached to the bottom glass than to the crevices on the LR IME.
