Green Dust Like Algae

I've been battling this algae for a couple of months but just cant get rid of it. Just been way for3 days and this is what I come back to, It's also on the glass. Any ideas on cause and how I can rid the tank of it?

Either snails or crabs,
I say this because crabs eat the snails.

I agree that a few herbivorous snails might be appropriate at this point if the tank doesn't have any. What's in the system?

There are three avenues to pursue: reduce their food supply (fish food, nitrate, phosphate), provide competition for food supply (decorative macro algae), and provide predation (snails and other herbivores). Manual removal is a great way to remove it's food, based on 'you are what you eat'. The most concentrated source of their food is themselves.
