Green hair algae problem

Hey guys I have a 29 biocube, with new bulbs and 3 led strips I been having a green hair algae problem going on in my tank for about a month, I feed my clown fish around once a day, I try and keep my lights on for about 10 hours.
I do a a 20 percent water change about once every 2 weeks and have a clean up crew. I also have a mini hang on filter in the back of the biocube with that white phosphate remover in it with filter floss to pick up any other things with a protein skimmer. If anyone has any ideas to how I can remove it I would appreciate the help

GHA or Green Hair Algae has been beat to death here, you will do well to just use the search function for GHA or green hair algae and read to your hearts content.

I like turbo snails for GHA, This is all part of your tank maturing and you will get many more ugglies in the future.

I would assume this is a fairly new tank. A new tank will go through many algae incarnations. Some possibilities are phosphate leaching from your rock, even though you feed once maybe it is to much, your lighting could be playing a part, If your using tap water then that could be driving algae, if the tank gets direct sun light that could be driving algae, maybe low flow in the tank

Those just a few things off the top of my head. Some things to do or try are list your test numbers for nitrate and phosphate this may help pinpoint a problem, if you find high phosphate then you can run some GFO (granular ferric oxide), manual removal during WC's. Add or adjust your flow rate, if you do not have a skimmer get one. Good luck just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys, what's a good nano protein skimmer ? And I'm thinking about upgrading my lights in the tank . The tank is 24 inches wide and what would be the best bang for the buck I can get ?
