GREEN HORNETS? <-- have you heard of these?

I saw those on eBay too... they do look like LA Lakers, but slightly different coloring. I think they're most likely a morph of something that they slapped a name on. But on another note, that eBay retailer is pretty reliable, so if you're interested I wouldn't hesitate to bid on them.

Okay thanks!

Have you ever bought from ReefPets on ebay? They are in Ohio, and I am looking into buying from them because of cheaper shipping options

I have bought from Reefpets before. Gary is a good guy. He gets a little creative with the naming, but the coral comes in looking pretty much as advertised.

I have a current order with "thecoralfarmer" that should ship out as soon as the hurricane blows over, but have never dealt with him before. Those zoas will probably wind up being super pricy. I have seen "rainbow palys" go for over $200 on his auctions.

I've ordered from Reef Pets several times and have been happy with everything I've gotten. He's also working on a direct selling website that should be up pretty soon. He's got great customer service too - I email him often. :)

The Coral Farmer is very reliable too. I have friends who order from her website and have been very happy with their purchases.

I've got bids going with Golden Basket right now... haven't dealt with them before, so I'm anxious to see how my order turns out!

As a heads up, that seller makes up a lot of names for his corals. Even names that are associated with well known morphs, but what he's calling them aren't what they're supposed to be. He was calling magician/happy PEs blue agaves when and another random zoa a god of war when it clearly wasn't, so 2x check and don't go the names he makes.

Edit:
Yup, see?

He's calling the same things LA Lakers now:

Definitely double check before ordering as I have seen several Mis named it had a weird name when it was clearly another z or p. good luck

Please no one take offense, but if you are planning on buying (or not buying) a coral solely for the name, you are part of the problem. Complaining about names and prices doesn't change anything - people not buying at those prices would change things. All that particular vendor's listings start at $4.99 and run for 2-3 days, so cartoon name or no, wrong name or no, there are obviously lots of people out there who have no complaints about either.

Regarding the seller, I have ordered multiple times from Bryan, prior to when people started going insane on his auctions. I had a couple zoas that never opened and a couple SPS frags that arrived DOA and he worked with me readily to remedy the problems quickly and extremely fairly. I ordered a LOT from him (see reason below) and had less than 3% of the corals with any issues. The pictures on the listings are accurate and not touched up, but the names are definitely of his own creation many times.

Just 3 months ago I was winning his auctions for amazing multi-polyp zoa frags and really nice multi-branch SPS frags for less than $10. Word got around, I guess, and some of those very same morphs now are selling for $100+, sometimes $200+ for similar polyp counts. I'm glad I got in when I did, but it makes me sad (for the hobby) to see that happen. I'm sure the vendor loves it, though, and more power to him for providing awesome pieces. It's not his fault people are bidding to the stratosphere.

I don't care about names I just wondered if green hornets existed then I got on the topic of eBay coral sellers. No biggie.

I'm glad to hear so many people have had good experiences with these eBay sellers who are so popular.

I may get up the courage and cash to finally buy enough to make the shipping worth it.

Ignore all the names from Mr coral (and his corals all together imo). If you look he'll actually name corals from the same colonies different things.

I got screwed on a chalice this way when I ordered from him.. I ordered two chalice that looked a bit different and were named different things, but when they got here, they're obviously from the same colony.

Also, I spent about $300 with him and about half of what I got from him died. He did reimburse me after a few days of emails but it was a pita to keep asking for reimbursement and sending pics and its clear they dont care about the corals. They were shipped in leaky bags with 1/4 the water they should have had and without a decent heatpack. I wouldnt order from him again, its a chop shop. :)
