Green Open Brain Disaster

So I come home tonight to see my prized green open brain coral with about 1/4 to 1/3 of its tissue died off...have no idea what could have caused this...i have another red open brain right next to it and two scolys in very near proximity as well...everything else in the tank looks great.

Will do some params tonight but I'm pretty sure everything is pretty much in check...I have stuff in the tank that is a lot more sensitive to params than this.

SO BUMMED..this is by far the oldest coral I have kept...have had it for about 5 years and been through 3 different tanks (40 breeder, 29 BioCube, 75)

Anybody ever have this happen with an open brain? Wondering if I should dip it in a bath of Revive or if that might stress it out further

ok so i know im super late on this reply but hey i just joined today...im curious to know how its doing ive had this happen to me once before except it was almost completely down to skeleton i completely wrote it off but decided to leave it in there put it towards the back of my tank and just let nature continue to tank its course (after all that is the point of this hobby regardless if its bad or good we all want a piece of the ocean in our house) maybe a month or two later i noticed that underneath the bit of algae grown on it some bright lime green, again figured it was left of tissue and let nature continue its way. now about 6 months later to make a long story short it had a MASSIVE regrowth of tissue i mean almost 100% and not only that laying next to it in the substrate we two tiny frags!!! i now have 3 since this and they are all healthy....ive only heard of this happening in one other tank before so it maybe be the rare chance of reproduction...please let me know what happened with yours
