I've had some green palys in my 55 gallon mixed reef for over 3 years now. There are some above the mid level of the tank but most are about 6" above the sand on a rock.
None of them look good with my daylight bulbs. They look shriveled up with their tentacles looking bent and crooked. If I look at them about an hour after the lights go off then they are magnificent! They look plump and their tentacles are straight and become really long. They look beautiful.
Is this normal behavior? I have a 4 bulb T5 fixture with ati bulbs.
