Green Polyp Leather

after 6 months of great growth my green polyp leather coral (which was given to me at my first NY Reef Club meeting by Harry) may be dying. It's been about three days that it has not extended its polyps. Everything else in my tank seems to be doing great. SPS, LPS softies and fish are all doing great. Thoughts? Anything I should do?

I guess the best person to ask if this has happened before is Dr. since it was his. Wish I knew the answer to help. Tagging..
 
Hmmm. Them guys are very hardy. Live for many years. Ck if anything is stingng it or irritation. It doesnt need a lot of light nor flow.

Give it a few more days, it may even be budding itself off. If so you may be a daddy!
 
the only thing that touches it is my clown. for about a week the clown had been swimming very close to the leather, almost rubbing against it.
 
It is probably irritated. It will eventually adjust...

It might also be "molting" and it will go with its polyps inside of it for a long period of time, you can speed this up by blowing off some of the old skin with a powerhead.

I used to have one of these, still do...but the green polyps have turned brown on mine. It was one of my first corals however so I dont have the heart to get rid of it.
 
The fellows are most likely correct as Leathers do go through molting periods. Make sure that is has good overall flow around it.

Again give it some time. :)
